The Public Safety Subcommittee hosted its first county-wide collaborative meeting at the 1620 Hotel in Plymouth.  The meeting was led by the two chairs of he Subcommittee, Plymouth Police Chief Mike Botieri and East Bridgewater Police Chief Scott Allen.

More than 180 people joined the Chiefs and the staff of the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office and the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department for this county-wide conference.

The purpose of the conference was to bring in all sectors of our community, such as law enforcement, educators, those in the medical and mental health fields together to discuss the current opioid problem in our county.

Attendees heard from Gil Kerlikowske, the former Director of the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy and PAARI Board Member, as well as School Superintendents from across Plymouth County.

The Data Subcommittee of the Plymouth County Drug Abuse Task Force, unveiled the newly created database, which gives law enforcement the ability to track overdoses county-wide in real time.
